A crash involving a logging truck on Otaika Valley Road, Whangarei has become the seventh logging truck crash in Northland just over seven weeks.
A fire communications spokesman said there had been a crash involving a logging truck and a ute on the road about 6am today. The crash is
the third logging truck crash on Otaika Valley Road in just over seven weeks.
The last crash on Otaika Valley Rd on May 4 happened when an empty logging truck carrying a trailer travelling towards Maungatapere crashed off a right-hand bend, rolled and smashed into a power pole, splitting it in half.
Following the string of crashes a public meeting was held at Otaika Valley Hall on Tuesday, May 10.
