Four people have been arrested in relation to a kidnapping in Kaikohe yesterday morning, police say.

Kaikohe police, with assistance from the Armed Offenders Squad, arrested four males from Waima about 9.20pm last night in relation to the kidnapping of a person from his home address in Kaikohe about 5am yesterday.

The victim was found uninjured and returned to his family. Police understand the victim and the offenders were known to each other.

The four are charged jointly with kidnapping and are due to appear in the Kaikohe District Court today. Further charges are likely, police said.

Police are continuing enquiries into the incident.
