Marusumi Whangarei Co. Ltd. was established in 1995 as a joint venture between two Japanese companies, Marusumi Paper and Marubeni. Our whole log chipping facility is based in Portland, Whangarei. All the woodchip is exported to Japan and other international markets through Marsden Point.

We are now looking for someone to join the team to operate and maintain the plant to meet customer orders. Ideally, applicants will have experience in working in an industrial, manufacturing or agricultural environment with sound knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.

For this role, applicants must be physically fit and able to do manual labour. A good work ethic, accurate record keeping, good communication skills and mechanical aptitude are some of the desired attributes that we are seeking, along with the ability to work as part of a small dynamic team.

Previous plant operation knowledge along with welding and machine maintenance experience would also be advantageous.

The role is roster-based and can include working on weekends to meet maintenance or production targets. Flexibility to work additional hours will also be required from time to time.bb
