Investigation underway after serious crash on State Highway 14 in Kaipara

A motorbike rider has been airlifted to Auckland Hospital after crashing on State Highway 14 in Kaipara today.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 10.12am in Tangiteroria, about halfway between Dargaville and Whangārei.

Traffic was reduced to a single lane at the time of the crash but has since fully reopened.

Police said its Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
