Investigation underway after serious crash on State Highway 14 in Kaipara

A motorbike rider has been airlifted to Auckland Hospital after crashing on State Highway 14 in Kaipara today.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 10.12am in Tangiteroria, about halfway between Dargaville and Whangārei.

Traffic has been reduced to one lane at the crash site, where the Serious Crash Unit is conducting an investigation.

A police spokesperson said traffic was moving in both directions.
