Myles Stewart, Red Courtney, Stu Rogers and John Jordan won The Yellow Ball Team Competition at the Hikurangi Golf Club's Daffodil Day Tournament.

The Hikurangi Golf Club has been holding a Daffodil Day Tournament for 14 years and last week's event raised a record amount for the Cancer Society - $20,000.

The tournament last Friday, was supported by a capacity field of 144 golfers who in spite of a couple brief periods of squally showers had an enjoyable day's play.

The club would like to thank everybody for the tremendous support given to the tournament and digging deep into their pockets buying raffle tickets and bidding up the auctions.

The Hikurangi Lions Club once again did an amazing job manning the barbecues around the course and as they have done every year donating $2000 towards the tournament total.

Last Friday's tournament raised a record total of $20,000 bringing the accumulative total of the 14 tournaments to $214,211, which is a fantastic result and a great credit to the time and effort put in by the clubs' members to achieve it.

Results on the day:

The Yellow Ball Team Competition was won by Red Courtney, John Jordan, Myles Stewart & Stu Rogers with 43 Points. They won a day trip out to the Poor Knights on the Perfect Day donated by Dive Tutukaka and four rounds at the Formosa Golf Club donated by Pacific Golfer.

Some of the top scorers on the day were: (Full results on the club's face book page)
