MP Shane Reti

MP Shane Reti

Well that was so easy to rise the district rates by 9 per cent, Now for the real work for this district council and councillors is to reduce operational costs by 25 per cent and increase services to the people of Whangarei of which have decrease by 75 per cent over the last 10yrs.

As I drive around our wonderful district I can't see value for ratepayers' money being invested in our infrastructure, it's time for the council to do a full audit on the district's books and contractors to see where we as a district are or aren't getting value for money.

Now is the time for our local MP Shane Reti to sit up and take note, find the 80 per cent of the road funding that has being lost to central government over the last 9 years. If not, stand aside to let someone else get the job done.

Congratulations to the Northland Regional Council councillors/council for the great work that has being done over the years. Maybe the district council can take a leaf out of your book.

Onerahi, Whangarei
