With the road toll not declining, it seems ludicrous that the Government is spending billions of dollars building roads of significance just so vehicles can go even faster and they can keep more trucks on the highways.
The Minister of Transport proudly stated that the new Tauranga Eastern Link roadwill shave - wait for it - a mere 24 minutes on each return trip at a cost of millions with tolls for the next 35 years.
