The Centre 1-5 Year Interclub competition was completed last weekend and in a very close contest the winners and the team to represent Northland in the Regional finals will be from the Arapohue Club.
At the completion of 12 matches they defeated Kensington 1 by one point.
The winning teamwas Jason Webb (singles); Clive McDermott and Ossie Rokstad (pairs); Sue Rokstad, Adrienne Graham and Roscoe Seabourne (triples).
Full results were: 1) Arapohue 28 win points, + 85 shots differential; 2) Kensington 1; 27 points, +31; 3) Whangarei 19 points + 17; 4) Mangawhai Women No 1 - 19 pts +13; 5) Mangawhai Women No 2 - 19pts +4.
Entries close today for the Centre Men's Open singles and the Women's Open Triples to be held on February 11-12 at the Onerahi, Whangarei, Mangawhai and Waipu greens.
Remember that you may play with a member of another club if you do not have sufficient junior bowlers at your club to make up a team.
The Centre First Year tournament will be held on February 25 and any first year bowler is eligible to enter.
Clubs, please help your players to enter this event, the one and only time that they can do so and play against players of equal experience.
March 5 is another junior event, the 1-8 year any combination triples.
This event does not have to be a club entry, you can get together with your mates from another club and enter. See the entry form in your handbook, use the website or email.
This weekend sees players competing in the Waitangi weekend Maori Bowls tournament being held in Auckland. Good bowling to all that have entered.
