The mini tournament was held in conjunction with the prizegiving was won by Leanne Stewart, Frank Arnerich, Graeme Lawrence, Diane Lawrence (Hikurangi). Dusty Reader, Laurel Jones, Mary Brewster and Steve Smith from Whangārei were second.

The new season was declared open by centre president Dusty Reader. The first jack of the season was delivered by the female player of the year, Ann Muir, and the first bowl by the male player of the year, Dennis Brewster.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event is being played as three-bowl triples so that we can keep within the 100 person limit at each venue. Get your entries in promptly, entry forms have been sent to all clubs.

The following clubs are having a 'have a go at bowls' day as listed:
One Tree Point: Sunday, September 6 from 1pm. Bring dad, mum and the children.
Maungakaramea: Club day every Sunday starting at 3pm. Bowls and tuition provided, children welcome.
Waipū: October 3 from 10am-3pm. All welcome to join in the activities.

The centre mixed 2x4x2 pairs entries are now coming to hand and these close next Thursday, September 10. Forward your entries by the centre website (bottom of front page), email to events manager or entry form in your handbook.

Players for this event may be from different clubs in the Northland centre, but must be full playing financial members.
