Of the four Kerikeri sides involved in the Stafford Choat Knockout Cup finals, Kerikeri Siteworx were the only team to emerge victorious - thanks to a hat-trick from Anna Liddington.
Kerikeri Siteworx won the Northland Women's Plate final 8-0 over Hora Hora at Morningside Park in convincing fashion to bethe only team north of Whangarei to come good in the finals.
Kerikeri manager Kate Liddington said Sunday's win was a fitting finish to another extended season for her girls with this being their first game in four weeks, their second in eight.
"Great game. Had all our girls there, playing their positions," she said, adding the final was - for most - their first game in four weeks, and the second in eight respectively.
"[We] did very well too really. Everyone had a good run around."
A hat-trick from Anna Liddington - taking her side's golden goal award with 10 for the season, over the other main contender Nikki Osborne - did the damage against Hora Hora. However goals to Taylor Jenkinson, Trudy Derbyshire, Lilly Molloy Wolt and Osborne made sure of the win.
Kate Liddington noted there was quite a bit of rain and upon turning up saw the pitch they were playing on was in a horrendous condition.
"Couldn't believe we were playing there," she said. "We brought home the silverware! Hopefully there's a nice big spot in the trophy cabinet."
In the main event for the women's Stafford Choat, Kerikeri High School's firxt XI went down narrowly to Kamo, also playing at Morningside Park.
Kerikeri Siteworx's win is the Waipapa-based club's second title for the season, after the Harcourts Masters team took out the Northland Men's Division (NM2) league title earlier in the season.
The Kerikeri men's premier team also still hold a chance, albeit a slim one, of winning their league.
