Northland's top women's football team are hoping to secure a piece of silverware for the first time when they compete for the Federation Cup later this month.
Kamo upset Auckland side Forrest Hill 1-0 in the semifinal with a first-half goal through striker Trudy Sandel.
Kamo captain Janelle Abbott hopes a home final against Hibiscus Coast will generate some welcome support after finishing third last year.
"We have our good old regular family members who watch us play.
"Every now and then we get some others come along, but usually just friends and family."
The women aren't shy of experience, with the average age of the squad just over 31 and Janelle says they love giving the younger teams the runaround.
Coach Russell Baddeley said they were not used to losing.
"They've dominated Northland women's league for many years.
"They've got a really solid team unit and are very strong and determined."
The Northland league is made up of four teams from Whangarei and three teams from further north.
The top two teams from Northland then compete with the Auckland teams for the Northern Football Federation's Cup in a knockout competition.
Kamo face Bay Cosmos in the semifinal of the Northland competition with the final being played at Toll Stadium on September 14.
Baddeley says bringing the silverware back to Northland "would be just fabulous." The final kicks off in Whangarei at 2.30pm on August 24.
