North Force's under-14 boys beat fifth-placed Eastern Suburbs 5-0 to improve their chances of a competition win.
Losing 4-3 last time they met, North Force aimed to prove a point, especially after a poor effort in the previous round.
Neither side dominated the first 15 minutes. North Force made afew changes, however, and five minutes later struck one into the back of the net.
It came from an awesome strike from Malcolm Young, who fired the ball hard over the keeper's head from outside the 18-yard box.
The second goal followed a good through ball by Young. He found Brendan Richardson, who delivered the ball to Tom Parker and he fired a shot past the keeper.
That made the score 2-0 to North Force heading into halftime.
Force scored early in the second half with a sweet goal from Richardson, who beat the keeper and placed the ball nicely into the back of the net.
They scored another after a good ball from Nathan Ryken into the box, where Connor Jack and Jack Williams were waiting. The ball was swiftly taken by Williams who struck it superbly past the keeper.
The fifth and final goal came from a great run from Young, who beat the Eastern Suburbs defenders and placed the ball in the bottom left corner from a tight angle.
North Force now sit comfortably in second place, four points behind league leaders Papakura, with three matches left to play.
