One of the Far North's best fireworks shows is coming back to Springbank School on Saturday.

The event features live music, fairground rides, games, food and a 15-minute fireworks show starting about 9pm.

Gates at the Waimate North Rd school, off State Highway 10 near Kerikeri, open at 6.30pm.

Local bands Late Night Meat Sandwich and Scarlet Fever will play and the fireworks will be set to music.

Refreshments will range from delicacies prepared by Ake Ake Restaurant to hot chips, sausages, frozen yoghurt, pizza and coffee. Other entertainment will include egg-and-spoon and three-legged races, water walkers and a bucking bronco.

Entry is $5 per person with children under 5 free.

The show is run by a licensed pyrotechnician, a parent at the school.
