Pearl Sanger's home was burgled and set alight while she was in hospital, and Northland's generous public has responded with gifts and donations. Pearl's nephew Ray Broad would like to pass on his aunt's heartfelt thanks.

On behalf of Pearl Sanger I wish to give heartfelt thanks to all those wonderful people who have aided and supported her during this stressful time.

The journalists at the Northern Advocate, Kristin Edge and John Stone, who have treated Pearl with sympathy and kindness whilst carrying out their professional duties.

To Ann McAteer and her staff at Radius Rimu Park, who reacted with such generosity in offering Pearl a place to stay in pleasant surroundings.

Some of the general public I have been able to contact and thank personally, but to those wonderful Kiwis (and even an Aussie) who have donated gifts, vouchers and others things, Pearl cannot thank you all enough and has several times been reduced to tears by such generosity.
