Calling all artists, designers and other creative types - entries for the fifth annual Waipu Museum Art N Tartan competition have opened.
The wearable art awards must feature designs that comprise at least 30 per cent tartan, to reflect Waipu's Scottish heritage.
The tartan can be used in any formor medium. This year there is also a new category called the Engine Room, for those who enjoy using wood and metal in their designs.
Other sections include: Dressed to Kilt, the open section; McKiwi, a section for exploring the similarities and the differences between Celtic and Pacific cultures; Fireside, a section for exploring Celtic mythology and Scottish "faerie tales"; Masks, a children's section for creating Celtic masks, and Brave Heart, a section for representing courage in the challenges of day-to-day living.
The prize money has increased this year, with a cash prize pool of over $6500 - the supreme award winner taking home $2000.
Entrants in the Waipu Museum Art N Tartan Wearable Art Awards can also submit their entry to the first ever Wearable Tartan Art Awards to be held during Scottish Week in the Roxburgh region of Otago.
