Minister of Education Hekia Parata visited Whangarei today to speak with educators, business people and regional leaders about improving educational standards in the region.
Ms Parata spoke to the Tai Tokerau Regional Cross Sector Forum, held at Toll Stadium, about how the groups could work together.
"Northland is full ofpromise and potential and growing educational success is going to be part of realising that," Ms Parata said.
The forum, aimed improving collaboration between the sectors, at was the second of four in Northland this year.
The group who came to the forum included principals, business leaders, tertiary education providers, Northland police, Whangarei mayor Sheryl Mai and Far North mayor John Carter.
