Before you load up your latest Instagram, take a moment and think about what and who you're portraying.

More and more people are posting snippets of their life online.

They're capturing their day at the beach, the family dog's latest trick and which winery they're sipping chardonnay at.

I saw plenty of pictures of people tucking into fresh, colourful meals at various F.A.W.C events during the weekend - it made my mouth water.

I love seeing how different chefs present their dishes and the picturesque settings people are dining in.

I also peruse posts checking on the latest fashion, home decor ideas and follow other athletes and fitness bloggers for motivation.

However there are some things that simply should not go online and that is posts to embarrass or shame other people.

But that is exactly what a Playboy model did when she took a photo of a naked woman in a gym changing room and posted it to Snapchat.

To add insult to injury Dani Mathers wrote: "If I can't unsee this then you can't either."

It is not known if the woman in the photo knew her picture was being taken.

After a barrage of criticism Mathers apologised and took the post down.

I can't imagine what possessed her to take a photo of a naked 70-year-old woman - let alone think it was wise to put it online.

Los Angeles prosecutors have charged Mathers with invasion of privacy - and so they should.

What a gross breach of this woman's privacy.

When we enter a pool or gym changing room we shouldn't have to be afraid that someone will take a sneaky pic and reveal us in all our glory to the online world.

Earlier Mathers said she posted it accidentally. But she didn't accidentally take the photo and that was where she first went wrong.

Before you load up your latest Instagram, take a moment and think about what and who you're portraying and if you'd be happy to be snapped in such a position.
