A postie delivering mail in Hikurangi was bitten on the leg by a dog yesterday.
Hikurangi police Senior Constable Russell Rawiri said the postie was on a bike on King St when he was bitten about 2pm. The postie was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene.
Earlier this
month a postie was shot while delivering mail in Kaikohe. It's believed to have been an accident caused by children playing with an air rifle. The contract worker for New Zealand Post was taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries in the incident at Guy Rd in Kaikohe.
