Des Wallace - Denby byelection candidate

Des Wallace - Denby byelection candidate

I am one of you, yes a fellow Denbyan.

It is with pride that I stand for the ward I live in.

Having been in business for the past two decades, mainly in the hospitality sector, I understand business.

As your councillor for Denby I will be taking my knowledge to council.

I am passionate about the growth of Whangarei as a city and at the same time I am concerned about time spent talking and not doing.

Where is our cycle/walkway linking Kamo to our CBD?

Why are we not using our public transport system?

Free parking in Denby works so let's keep it that way.

Should we have free parking days within our CBD to attract more business?

Are you finding as a business owner that costs keep creeping in from council each year that were not there the year before?

Why do we not have a cultural centre for tourism in our city?

We are a city full of creativity through Maori culture and yet no action, just talk!

Money to be made and careers opened up for our talented youth!

Why are we watching hundreds of tourist buses leave Tarewa Park tourist information centre and head straight to the Far North?

You are paying for this!

We will never be a tourist destination if we only talk about the things we are not doing.

We are a city and it's about time we acted as one.

I will help your council understand that we work for you, not the other way round.

As a professional actor for the past 20 years on both TV and stage, I know I will be a strong voice for you to communicate your views and thoughts to council.

I'm also a ratepayer.

A vote for Des is a voice for you.
