Revellers, bands and stalls will again replace traffic on Mangonui's main street for the town's annual Waterfront Festival.
To be held from noon to 6pm on Saturday, April 5, the festival coincides with the last day of daylight savings.
More than 70 vendors will offer locally produced food, wine, artsand crafts, while a variety of bands will play on the Wilton Stage. A second stage, under the pohutukawa between the Four Square and the wharf, will offer more laid-back sounds while bouncy castles, face painting and circus performers will keep the kids entertained. Other attractions will include a tug-of-war challenge and paddle-board races.
Free parking will be available at Far North ITM with a shuttle bus to and from the festival throughout the day.
Entry is $5 or a gold coin for children and infants free.
Butler Point Museum and Zig-Zag Charters are offering catamaran trips across the harbour; call Jan Fergusson at Butler Point Museum to book. The festival is organised by Doubtless Bay Promotions in conjunction with Somersault Event Management.
