"Our kind sponsors Landmark homes have not only stepped up to sponsor this event for the second year running, they have also increased the prize pool which now sits at $3000 for the singles event only, with first prize doubled from $500 in 2017 to $1000 this year."
Darts continues to be a rising sport in the world and has become a major spectator sport, drawing major crowds to big tournaments.
Murden said TDA is looking forward to the calibre of play likely to be on show.
"With a rising number of dart players in Northland we are excited to be holding this tournament once again," he said.
"We look to encourage players of all abilities and ages to compete.
"Our facility at the Whangarei Golf Club allows us to hold tournaments up to a capacity of 96 players with 16 boards in play."
