Northlanders dug deep yesterday for the Cancer Society with collections held across the region for Daffodil Day.
The appeal is the Cancer Society's biggest fundraising event and Northlanders raised a record amount last Daffodil Day with a total of $126,000.
The Cancer Society is hoping for an even larger amountthis year with fundraising events and collectors out in force across the region.

Virtually every part of the region was covered, with collectors or events in most centres, including Whangārei; Dargaville; Ngunguru; Ruakākā; Kaitaia; Kerikeri; Kaikohe; Mangawhai; Coopers Beach; Kāeo; Rawene; Te Kao; Waipū; Kawakawa; Ōpua; Ōhaeawai; Russell and Paihia.
