This would qualify them to play in a four-way mini tournament in Counties on March 13 against co-ed winners from Counties, Waikato Valley, Hamilton and Bay of Plenty.
What followed was a dramatic finish to a tightly contested match. Kerikeri snuck home in their chase of 115, getting there in the penultimate over with just one wicket left in the shed.
Meanwhile WBHS were upset by Mahurangi in the other game thanks to a solid 57 not out by Liam Wegewe.
This left WBHS and Kerikeri standing to battle it out for the Bruce Scott Trophy.
The match somewhat underwhelmed as Kerikeri could only manage 89.
Despite a valiant effort in the field, it was not enough as Sam Webb in particular batted well to see them home comfortably and be crowned Bruce Scott Trophy champions yet again.
Meanwhile, Pool B saw some good close games which at the end of the round robin saw three teams tied on two wins each.
Only Kamo High Second XI failed to register a win but they did push Huanui very close in their encounter.
WBHS Second XI defeated Rodney and Kamo, but fell to Huanui.
Rodney defeated Huanui and Kamo lost to WBHS.
Huanui then beat WBHS in the third game to tie everyone up.
So the last match-ups saw Huanui face off with Rodney and Kamo take on WBHS.
Huanui got up over Rodney and WBHS defeated Kamo.
This meant Huanui and WBHS ended on equal points, but by virtue of Huanui taking out their match against WBHS, they won Pool B.
Player of the tournament went to Kamo High School's Max Turner, who led with the bat with scores of 48, 42 and 52 not out and bowling with control.
