Whangarei Boys' High School have built themselves a commanding lead in their Oxford Trust Two Day match against Kamo.

Bowling first, WBHS had Kamo in early trouble as Cullen Lowe (4 for 42) ripped through the top order.

Ben Hyde (16) was the only batsman in the top six to reach double figures as Lowe and then Kurt Oldridge (6 for 36) ripped through their lineup.

The situation could have been dire for Kamo had Logan Choat not hit 66 to add some respectability to Kamo's total, which amounted to 109.

Oldridge was the standout for WBHS as he made light work of Kamo's middle and lower order in his 13 overs of medium pace.

In reply, Sean Daniels (2 for 62) grabbed two early wickets but Kamo couldn't find answers to Chamodh Peiris (76) and Rory Christopherson (75).

The WBHS pair put on 81 for the fourth wicket to make sure they grabbed first innings point.

WBHS ended the day on 231 for 7, holding a lead of 122 runs.

Meanwhile, Onerahi Central will have to work to keep their unbeaten run in the competition after failing to register first innings points against Kaipara Flats.

Kaipara Flats batted first and, lead by Kyran Dill (39), Liam Jones (32) and Sam Stephens (28), made their way to 163 in the first innings.

Rory Anders (3 for 21) and Sean Doel (2 for 27) helped restrict Kaipara Flats.

In reply, Onerahi Central never got off the ground as Kyran Dill (6 for 49) ripped through the order.

Anders (37) and Kurt Benney (21) made contributions but couldn't help their side to first innings points as they were dismissed for 110.

Kaipara Flats are 42 for three in their second innings, holding a lead of 95.

In the other match, Duracrete Products City are in a good position after grabbing first innings points on day one against Westech Automotives Maungakaramea.

Maungakaramea were all out for 104 in the first innings on the back of four wickets from Stacy Hyndman (4 for 51).

City managed to get a lead of 40 as James Thompson's unbeaten 70 helped them to 144.

Maungakaramea will resume the match with a lead of two runs as they managed to knock off the deficit while only losing one wicket.

In the reserve grade only two matches were played as two sides defaulted.

Kamo High School grabbed a tight two-wicket win over Kerikeri.

Kerikeri scored 86 on a tough batting track, not made any easier with the bowling exploits of Billy Alexander-Crawford (4 for 23) and Nathan Parkes (3 for 13).

Kamo High made tough work of the chase but snuck home with two wickets to spare.

Brett Weber managed 40, while Simon Hart (2 for 18) and Deep Pundir (2 for 24) tried their best to force a victory.

In the other clash, Duracrete Products City had a much needed five-wicket win over Onerahi Central.

Onerahi Central, led by Sid Rana (35), scored a sub-par 125 after City pair Reagan Radford (3 for 13) and Tim King (3 for 20) made runs tough to come by.

In reply, King finished off a fine all-round performance with an unbeaten 52 to see his side home.
