Duracrete Products City and Westech Automotives Maungakaramea are leading the chasing pack in the Oxford Trust Two Day cricket competition as Onerahi Central look to extend their lead at the top of the ladder.

All three have different opponents in the third round, so will want to maintain their places at the head of the competition.

City travel to Kamo as they look to build on their first innings win last round against Kaipara Flats.

Led by good performances with the bat from Bert Horner (66) and Harry Darkins (58), as well as four-wicket bags for Joey Yovich and Ray Fannin, they passed Kaipara Flats' total of 211 with comfort.

The bonus points they acquired put them one and a half points ahead of third-placed Maungakaramea, but they have some work to do to haul in Onerahi Central at the top.

Onerahi sit seven points clear after their outright victory over Kamo.

The competition leaders, helped by an unbeaten 79 from Todd Beehre and four-wicket bags for Tom Herman and Sam Walker, easily accounted for Kamo inside a day.

They now line up against Whangarei Boys' High School First XI, who have proven to be a good side across the season.

WBHS took first innings points against Maungakaramea last round with Chamodh Peiris (75) and Rory Christopherson (68) standing out.

In the last game, Maungakaramea host Kaipara Flats as both sides look to improve on their last efforts.

Kaipara Flats sit at the bottom of the ladder after struggling in their opening two matches against Kamo and City.
