Classy performances from Martin Tansley and Ryan Woodman have led Onerahi Central to the reserve grade 40-over title.

Onerahi Central beat Kamo High by 28 runs in a tight affair.

Onerahi batted first on Cobham Oval, which had seen a domestic one-day final 24 hours earlier, and BJ Howie (18) and Martin Tansley set the tone initially, putting on 40 for the opening stand.

The introduction of Max Turner (2 for 18) and Nathan Parkes (2 for 17) wrestled control back in Kamo High's favour as Onerahi lost three wickets in fairly quick succession.

Tansley held the Onerahi innings together with a fine knock of 58 before he fell to opener Connor Bolton (2 for 19).

The dismissal of Tansley was a momentum shifter and Kamo High got stuck into the Onerahi middle and lower order.

Off-spinner Harry Cooper (2 for 21) bowled an economical spell before Parkes and Turner returned to snare the last two wickets.

Kamo High's skill with the ball left them a manageable target of 143 for the title.

Things didn't start well for Kamo High as opening bowlers Axel Sheppard (2 for 17) and Adam Sylva (1 for 15) made early inroads to have them 12 for 2.

The second wicket brought Turner to the crease and he and Parkes (12) looked to get the chase back on track.

The loss of Parkes when the score was on 48 was a big blow, trapped in front by Kirk Henderson (1 for 25).

The game was evenly poised at 63 for 3 before the introduction of part time off-spinner Woodman turned the game on its head.

Woodman dismissed the danger man in Turner after a defiant knock before ripping through the Kamo High batting order to leave them reeling at 98 for 8.

Reuben Crum (6), Craig Cooper (7) and Bolton (6 not out) tried to steer their team home but a late run out sealed their fate.

Both sides now look to be in contention in the remaining reserve grade competitions.
