The last round of premier cricket in 2016 was a stage for the bowlers as low scores were the order of the day in the Oxford Two Day competition.

Kamo claimed first innings points after ending Kaipara Flats' innings just seven runs short of Kamo's first effort.

Kamo resumed their innings on 96 for 6 and started strongly, with Dave Armit (15) and Lakhdeep Singh (25) frustrating the Kaipara Flats' attack.

However Shaun Beamish, who started the day needing just one wicket for a five-wicket bag, proved to be more than a handful for the Kamo lower order, grabbing three wickets to end the Kamo innings at 142.

Beamish ended with highly impressive figures of 7 for 55.

Kaipara Flats' reply couldn't have started worse when Jaz Williams was caught for a third ball duck off Warren van Wyk (1 for 15).

From there, Kaipara Flats' batsmen got starts but no one was really able to kick on with seven players making double figures. Only Findlay Buchanan (38) and Kyran Dill (21) made it past 20though.

Meanwhile Kamo were making consistent breakthroughs, particularly through Ben Hyde (3 for 30).

But it was a spell from Armit (4 for 30) that was the game changer as he ripped through Kaipara Flats' tail to leave them just seven runs short of first innings points.

Kamo ended the day on 28 for 3, earning themselves a draw with first innings points.

Meanwhile Westech Automotive Maungakaramea, led by the bowling of Kurtley Watson, clinched themselves a draw with first innings points against Onerahi Central.

Maungakaramea started the day at 79 for 7 and managed to get through to 132 on the back of 45 from Matt Taylor.

Rory Anders (3 for 49) grabbed a trio of wickets for Onerahi Central, with Henry Cooper (1 for 12) grabbing the last wicket.

Onerahi struggled early on as Taylor (0 for 1 off seven overs) and Ian Wallace (0 for 7 off four overs) made scoring incredibly tough.

With Wallace and Taylor barely allowing a run, Jason Morgan (2 for 10) and Watson (5 for 11 off 11 overs) made the breakthroughs as they reduced Onerahi to 30 for 6.

Cooper (47) and Tom Herman (28) got the innings back on track, combining for a 44-run partnership - the biggest partnership of the match,

Once Herman was dismissed by James Merry (3 for 31), Onerahi collapsed once again to be dismissed for 103, giving Maungakaramea a 29-run lead after the first innings.

Maungakaramea then batted for 18 overs as Onerahi tried to force a result, but both teams took the draw after Maungakaramea was 48 for four.

Rory Anders (3 for 12) grabbed himself another three wickets while Tyler Lortan was unbeaten on 26.

Meanwhile the second day of Duracrete Products City's clash with Whangarei Boys' High School First XI was pushed back to Sunday, but that did not impede City's march to a win on first innings.

Returning at 130/3, City kicked on through James Thompson and Harry Darkins (57) after losing Ian Page, who couldn't add to his day one score of 46.

Thompson, resuming on 63, looked in sublime touch on his way to a big century.

He finished on 154 not out as City declared on 294 for four.

WBHS were put under immediate pressure with Kieran Nelson blasting through their order with a commanding eight for 22.

Caleb Boswell-Smith provided some resistance with a fine 72, but it wasn't enough as they were dismissed for 148.

City enforced the follow-on and WBHS were 35 for two at the close, giving City a winning draw.
