Adam Sylva took 1-14 as Onerahi restricted Whangarei BHS to 144 in the first innings of the round two Lion Red 2015-16 clash.

Sixty-two runs from opener Brad Kneebone set the precedence for a dominant second innings as Onerahi crept to a comfortable three-wicket win over Whangarei Boys' High School in round two of the Lion Red 2015-16 one day series.

Backed-up by No2 Tom Herman (30), Kneebone led Onerahi's opening partnership from the get-go, which allowed their side to have the gloves and pads off just after 31 overs as they chased down Whangarei BHS's 144.

Onerahi's Brad Kneebone, scored an impressive 62 runs with the bat.

Despite Boys' High's Sam Walker and Quinn Pooley taking two wickets a piece to deter Onerahi from victory, the consistency of Kneebone and Herman earlier on proved too precise as they notched up the bulk of Onerahi's 145/7 reply.

Tyler Lortan high-scored for Boys' High (66) but his teammates didn't enjoy the same success, with every batsman, bar Lortan and Walker, falling for fewer than 10 runs.

Also enjoying a win on Saturday, City scored a hard-fought victory over Kamo.

Finishing the first innings at 206/9 after 50 overs, Kamo laid down a tough challenge for City with Dylan Clark (63) and Curtis Cherrington (76) leading the run stakes.

Fresh off a NCA Northland T20 series win last weekend, City's Joey Yovich fired into gear with 40 runs, and middle-order batsman Jeremy Guy brought up his half century, finishing on 57 runs.

Despite losing several wickets for ducks, City's tail-order added the much-needed runs to the scorecard.

Max Trimble and Keiran Nelson held the fort, scoring nine runs off the last over, to take the win with two balls left in the innings.

At Maungakaramea, Kaipara Flats managed to disallow the home side a win.

Scoring 142 runs Kaipara then restricted Maungakaramea's batsman as they fell short by 25 runs.
