The Northland club cricket season is hitting its straps as the Premier grade continues their T20 action while the Reserve grade shifts to a longer format.

Kensington Park will be the venue for a lot of cricket, hosting six T20s on the three main pitches.

But teams will have to combat missing players through Northland and Northern Districts commitments.

Duracrete Products City and Onerahi Central will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start after their two wins last week, while Kaipara Flats and Kamo will be hoping to kickstart their campaigns after a winless start.

The first round, which starts at 10.30am, sees Whangarei Boys' High School First XI take on Maungakaramea, City face off against Kaipara Flats and Onerahi play Kamo.

These matches are followed by a second round of matches at 2.30pm.

Maungakaramea will front up against Onerahi, Kaipara Flats will butt heads with Kamo and WBHS line up with City.

All teams are vying to join Bream Bay and Onerahi Reserves at Cobham Oval on December 11 for the T20 finals.

Bream Bay and Onerahi, meanwhile, will be looking to start the reserve grade 40 over competition in the same vein as their T20 efforts.

Eight teams will line up to start the limited overs campaign.

Onerahi travel to Kamo for their clash at Kamo Recreation Ground, while Bream Bay face off against WBHS Second XI at WBHS.

The other matches see Duracrete Products City Reserves travel to face the recently reformed Kerikeri, and Kamo High School First XI taking on Maungakaramea at Kensington Park.

Meanwhile, Northland have named their side to face Bay of Plenty in a two-dayer at Bay Oval in Mt Maunganui this weekend.

Northern Districts A's Ben Hyde will captain the side, while fellow A teammate Brett Randell will also play after playing in the Provincial A Nearest Neighbour matches.

In their last game there, Northern Districts A lost to Wellington A by five wickets with Hyde scoring 28 off 27 batting at three and Randell bowling four wicketless overs for 27 runs.

Henry Cooper was unavailable as he is playing for Northern Districts against Central Districts.

Northland team to face Bay of Plenty:
Brad Kneebone - Onerahi Central; Ben Hyde (captain) - Kamo; Neil Parlane - Maungakaramea; Tyler Lortan - Maungakaramea; Todd Beehre - Onerahi Central; Rory Christopherson - WBHS; Kurtley Watson - Maungakaramea; Matthew Lobb - City; Dave Armitt - Kamo; Brett Randell - Kaipara Flats; Shaun Beamish - Kaipara Flats; Stacey Hyndman - City.
