Duracrete Products City, Onerahi Central and Kamo High all had strong wins in the latest round of reserve grade Declaration Cricket.

City batted first on a tough surface at Kensington Park against WRMK Kerikeri and immediately found themselves under the pump, at one point struggling at 68 for 6.

However through the tail they managed to work their way to a position of relative strength, declaring at 141 for 8.

Reagan Radford's 31 was an important part of the recovery for City.

With rain coming over the ground, Kerikeri crumbled to be all out for just 49.

City's attack of Terry Jobbit (3 for 10), Barry Newton (2 for 5) and Tim King (2 for 8) proved too hard to handle on a volatile wicket.

Meanwhile Kamo High grabbed a five-wicket win over Whangarei Boys' High School in the battle of the colleges.

WBHS started well with Brandon Peck (39) setting up the innings nicely

However they were unable to capitalise on the strong start as Max Turner (3 for 26) and Tom Bolton (3 for 57) helped dismiss WBHS for 140.

In reply, Kamo High took until late in the day to grab the win but it was done in comfortable fashion.

They reached the target five down with Geoff Parker (56) and Nathan Parkes (37) forming the backbone of the innings.

Onerahi Central were the other side to grab a win, beating Bream Bay by six wickets.

Bream Bay were rolled for 66 as BJ Howie (4 for 7) and Adam Sylva (3 for 27) made light work of their batting order.

Onerahi knocked the target off four down amid rolling showers.

The final match was an enthralling rain-affected draw between newcomers Onerahi Central-Huanui College (OCHC) and Westech Automotives Maungakaramea.

OCHC batted first and amassed 157 from 42 overs. Richard Johnston was the mainstay of the innings, turning in a top class 88.

Todd Skudder was the pick of the bowlers, snaring 5 for 20 with the ball.

In reply, Maungakaramea had just 32 overs to chase down the target and fell agonisingly short.

Maungakaramea ended the 32nd over on 154, four short of victory.
