Duracrete Products City claimed the reserve grade 50/40 title with two matches to spare as they comfortably beat Kamo High School by six wickets.

Kamo High batted first but it was City that made the early moves with two wickets inside the opening ten overs.

Harry Cooper scored a patient 25 before Mark Turton (39) picked up the scoring.

However, Turton couldn't find a consistent partner as Robbie McPherson (3 for 11) took vital wickets.

Kamo High got through to 136 from their innings, giving City a tricky chase.

Two wickets in two overs from Kobe Walters (2 for 18) got Kamo High off to a great start but the combination of Bruce Kessell (55) and Joey Yovich (52 not out) put on 69 runs for the fourth wickets, effectively sealing the title.

Meanwhile, WRMK Kerikeri and Westech Automotives Maungakaramea played out a tough draw in Kerikeri.

Kerikeri batted first and looked to build runs patiently. Opener Manik Fernando was sedate in his 115-ball 47 while contributions from Damon Peach (43) and Alex Poore (35) got their side to 185 for 5 from their 50 overs.

James Merry was the best of the Maungakaramea attack, taking 3 for 47 from his 13 overs.

In reply, Maungakaramea lost three wickets in the first five overs as Deep Pundir (2 for 23) was tough to get away.

Maungakaramea made sure of the draw, ending their 40 overs on 130 for 7.

Onerahi Central flexed their muscles against Onerahi Central-Huanui College (OCHC) with a resounding nine-wicket victory.

Onerahi Central bowled first and never let OCHC get settled with openers Robert Lee (2 for 10) and Adam Sylva (3 for 8) bowling nagging lines to their young opponents.

Dean Potter showed some late resistance with 19 but off-spinner Gareth McCullough (3 for 12) finished off the lower order to dismiss OCHC for 65.

Onerahi Central were barely troubled in the chase and made light work of things as BJ Howie (31) and Ryan Woodman (29 not out) got them over the line with nine wickets in hand.

Kamo, meanwhile, defaulted to Whangarei Boys' High School while Bream Bay had the bye.
