When joining the club there was no age barrier for people or vehicles.
Mr Roberts is looking for people who enjoy driving cars and do not mind showing them off.
When the Government introduced laws governing modifying cars, he said members' interest in cruising around waned but that had changed.
"At the end of this year, I want to organise a car fair because there really is nothing for car enthusiasts here. There's quite a few hot rods and classics but not the Japanese side of things.
"I look forward to hearing from new members so we can get the ball rolling and organise runs, shows and social outings."
Most members own Japanese vehicles and the club has won various awards, as individuals and as a group. The only costs in joining are for stickers and club garments.
