Hot Rods, custom cars, street racers and classic motors were all on show at the Whangarei Rod and Custom Club's annual Christmas fundraising event for the Salvation Army. Dozens of vehicles packed into Whangarei's Mitre 10 Mega site for the gathering, with money going to the Salvation Army's annual Christmas Appeal.

"As well as raising money, all the car owners had to bring along a toy to go to the Salvation Army's appeal. It's a very worthwhile cause at this time of the year and it gave us [enthusiasts] a chance to show of our vehicles and give the public a chance to have a look," Mr Morgan said.
