A crash has closed State Highway 1 in Whangarei after a man involved in a police pursuit crashed into two other vehicles.
The crash happened about 4.45pm near the intersection of SH1 and Raumanga Valley Rd.
Northbound traffic has been diverted down Murdoch Cres and onto Raumanga Valley Rd, whilesouthbound traffic has been diverted along Collingwood St and Anzac Rd, police said.
One of the vehicles in the crash had earlier been involved in a police chase, police said.
Police said some of the people involved in the crash were injured, but it is not believed those injuries are serious.
