The Ministry of Social Development He Poutama Taitamariki (Youth Employee of the Year) Award is a new category, designed to acknowledge a young person's achievement in demonstrating excellence in their work and contribution to their workplace, while also recognising the role of the employer in creating conditions for success and sustainability.
Nominees must live in Northland, or at least be undertaking education, training or employment in the region, be between 18 and 25 on July 1 this year, have previously received a benefit over the previous two or three years, have been in sustained employment for at least 12 months, and have a training and/or professional development plan.
Nominations, including self-nominations, are being accepted at www.northlandbusinessawards.co.nz, via the online form or by uploading a video entry.
Admission to the Northern Advocate Northland Business Hall of Fame recognises those who, during their business careers, have demonstrated service both to their industry and to the greater Northland community. Nominees do not need to still be living or operating in Northland, but must have a strong connection with the region, and, if living outside Northland, that connection should be widely known.
"If there is someone who you believe deserves nominating, please forward their details to the chamber (awards@northchamber.co.nz), along with a short paragraph as to why they should be inducted," CEO Tony Collins said.
