A heavy machinery and truck company has rolled into the Far North in readiness for growth in the forestry, construction and industry sectors.

CablePrice has opened a branch in Kerikeri, positioning itself for the well-flagged industrial expansion in the district, said parts and service adviser Neville Carter.

Opening a Kerikeri parts, service and sales centre has created seven new jobs, on top of the 20 staff employed in CablePrice's Whangarei depot.

Carter said the company would be well placed to provide and service machinery and other equipment used in the expansion of the Ngawha geothermal station, a new industrial hub to be built in the same location with Provincial Growth Funding and increased forestry development.

CablePrice is the exclusive distributor of leading construction equipment and commercial vehicle brands including Scania, Hitachi and John Deere. The company also specialises in supplying forestry equipment.
