A Whangarei building construction company has performed an industry award hat-trick for franchise excellence and top sales results.

Hill Construction, which owns the Northland Coresteel Buildings franchise, scooped three excellence awards at the recent Coresteel conference.

The Northland franchise, under Wayne Hill, Simon Eilering and James Senescall, received the runner-up award for Franchise of the Year and the Coresteel Overall Excellence Award alongside an award for the Highest Volume of Sales for 2014.

Coresteel Buildings specialise in the design, manufacture and construction of steel buildings and in Northland, have constructed buildings such as Pacific Motor Group, Warren Hay Marine, Marine North, Ten-4 Engineering, Commercial Diesel and Stealth Properties' retail buildings on Port Rd, Whangarei.

The successful trio also own the Coresteel Bay of Plenty franchise.

Haemish Reid, general manager of Coresteel Buildings, said the Northland team consistently performed well.

"Northland has always been a major winner at the Coresteel awards and that's testament to the fact that they continually punch above their weight," he said. "Their staunch commitment to their customers and the Coresteel brand has resulted in one of our smallest franchise regions performing as if they were our largest."

Mr Hill and Mr Senescall have led the business in Northland for the past five years, and were recently joined on the board by builder Mr Eilering.

Mr Hill said the Coresteel company had grown.

"Coresteel was originally based around smaller sheds, yet now fits squarely in the commercial/industrial range due to the ongoing development of the software and buildings systems that have evolved over time."
