Braydan and Nicole Grant have taken over the ownership of Deluca Cafe in Rust Ave, Whangarei.

The popular eatery officially opened for business with the Grants at the helm yesterday. This is the third business the couple have acquired in the past 14 months — opening Salt Cafe, formerly known as Caffeine, in Water St in October 2016 followed by restaurant Burger Bank on Bank St just before Christmas.

Mr Grant said the opportunity to purchase Deluca came up unexpectedly. He said there were no plans to change anything, including the existing staff and menu.

"We're keeping it as is, why reinvent the wheel," he said.

Mr Grant said both Salt Cafe and Burger Bank were doing really well and there were plans to take on more staff.
