The latest lawn bowls news.

The Tiger Turf-sponsored Winter League is under way with the first event played at Onerahi last weekend.

Section play is being held at Kamo, Hikurangi, Kensington and One Tree Point clubs during the next few weeks and the regional final will be played at One Tree Point on July 19.

The winner will play in the New Zealand final to be held in Auckland.

This event is played as three-player pairs, played on the set basis with power plays being allowed by both teams. Games are short, each player must play at least nine bowls in a set.

The event is based on the Inter State competition held in Australia and is fun for the players involved and those who like to watch bowls. If you are interested in taking part or getting more information contact the clubs mentioned above.
