Six bowls tournaments are scheduled between now and April 30

Tomorrow the World Masters Games commence in Auckland.

I understand that there are 28,000 competitors in various sports competing over the next week.

Many Northlanders are playing in these events in a variety of sports. Good luck to those competitors in the bowls event.

Saturday, April 29 will see the first of the Champion of Champions events being held in Northland. The following clubs have entered the singles to be played at Onerahi (men) and Whangarei (women).

Men: Whangarei, Dargaville, Kamo, Kensington, Maungatapere, Mangawhai, Maungaturoto, One Tree Pt, Onerahi, Ruawai, Waipu, Arapohue, Hikurangi, Mt Manaia.

Women: Kamo, Kensington, Mangawhai, Maungaturoto, One Tree Pt, Onerahi, Ruawai, Waipu, Arapohue, Ngunguru, Hikurangi.

On Sunday, April 30 the triples will be played as follows.

Men at Waipu - Whangarei, Dargaville, Kamo, Kensington, Maungatapere, Mangawhai, Maungaturoto, One Tree Pt, Onerahi, Ruawai, Waipu, Arapohue, Hikurangi, Ngunguru.

Women - at One Tree Point - Kamo, Kensington, Maungatapere, Mangawhai, Maungaturoto, One Tree Pt, Onerahi, Waipu, Arapohue, Ngunguru, Hikurangi.

Clubs are reminded that a marker with their player is appreciated. Reporting time is 8am.

Club tournaments this week are:

April 22-23: Whangarei Men's Fours; April 23: Dargaville AC Triples; April 26: Maungaturoto AC Triples; April 27: Ngunguru AC Triples; April 29: Kensington 1-10 AC Triples; April 30: Maungakaramea AC Triples.

Reminder: Coaching Association AC Fours (1 to 8 player per team) is Tuesday, May 2 - entries to Sue Wightman please.
