Most bowls clubs will be holding their first championship games of the new season this weekend.

This weekend most clubs hold their first club championship for the new season.

The event may vary from club to club, with pairs, fours, junior events, etc being played.

We hope all players have taken advantage and entered whatever event is being played at their club. Good luck to you all.

Entries have now closed for the Centre Open Championships pairs to be played on October 17 and 18. Venues will be Leigh and Maungaturoto for men and Mangawhai for women on day one. Post section for both will be played at Mangawhai on Sunday.

An excellent entry has been received and the draw will be completed on Monday and will be available on the centre website and at clubs.

A reminder that Bowls New Zealand CEO Mark Cameron will be holding an information evening at Bowls Whangārei on Monday, October 12, commencing at 5pm.

All bowlers are invited to attend and we hope all clubs send along a representative.

The next centre events to be played will be Centre Open Championship singles, followed by centre junior pairs (1-5 year bowlers). Enter via the centre website or email the centre events manager.
