The new summer bowling season is now on our doorstep with the official centre opening to be held at Bowls Whangarei on September 3. The opening starts at 1.30pm. Clubs, please notify the centre office of the numbers attending for catering purposes.
The first playing event ofthe season will be the Centre Pennants to be held on the weekend of September 16-17. Entry forms have been sent to all clubs. Please complete these and return to the centre office by September 8. The draw and conditions of play will then be decided and all clubs will be advised.
North Harbour (Premier men) and Auckland Centre (Premier women) singles events will be on September 23-24. Bowlers who wish to compete are advised that entries close on September 6. You can enter the event through the centre websites.
The centre handbook for 2017-18 is almost completed and final distribution to clubs will be made at the centre opening.
The Umpires Association is holding its annual fundraising tournament this Sunday at Kamo Bowling Club. There are 20 teams entered. The dress is mufti with bowling shoes please. Reporting time is 9am (morning tea) with play scheduled to start at 9.30am.
