Lawn bowls news with Gwen Lawson.

The centre opening for the summer season will get under way at the Kamo Bowling Club on Saturday, at 1.30pm.

President Jeanette Yovich will preside. An invitation has been extended to all clubs to have their representative attend, along with patrons and life members of the association. The opening will be held, wet or fine.

Congratulations to nine new umpires who have sat and passed the New Zealand umpiring examinations over the past few weeks.

They are John Day, Ken Rozell, Irene Donaldson, Sue Egerton, Graham Egerton, Ron Heaton, Glenn Jones, Chris Budge and Pat Warth. Well done to you all.

A reminder that new law books have been produced by World Bowls and are available at $10 each from the centre office or by ordering direct from Bowls NZ.
