Another week, another round of exciting bowls action. PHOTO/MICHAEL CUNNINGHAM

The Centre Interclub competition was concluded on Sunday and after some very stiff competition the following are the results.

The winning combinations will represent the Centre and their club at the regional finals on Saturday, December 16 at Auckland, with venue yet to be confirmed.

Division 1 Men winner: Kensington - Singles: D McMurchy; Pair: J Thorburn (S), G Gallant (L); Fours: G Bond (S), I McMurchy (3), B Harris (2), G Lyddiard (L).
Runner-up: Hikurangi

Division 1 Women winner: Mangawhai - Singles: S Wightman; Pairs: C Griffiths (S), C Stebben (L); Fours: K Wintle (S), L Wintle (3), N Franks, J Hollingsworth.
Runner-up: Kensington

Division 2 Men: Kensington Bears - Singles: G Bush; Pairs: C Edmiston (S), C Van Haaften (L); Fours: L Reader (S), M Haslam,(3) S Seddon,(2) G Wright (L)
Runner-up: Mangawhai No 3

Division 2 Women: Kamo - Singles: C Neeley, Pairs: M Yovich (S), S Wright (L); Fours: D Catton (S), D Hardy (3), L Wyness (2), K Cooper (L).
Runner-up: Onerahi

Northland representative squads have been announced for the competition to be held at Mairangi Bay (women) and Browns Bay (men) on Saturday. The squads are:

1-5 Year Women: A Greenwood, J Little, R Brewster, T Harris, K Cooper, S Egerton, Y Pitman, J Fraser, J MacKenzie, L Springette, G Sandilands, S Ayerst.

1-5 Year Men: D Smith, R Taylor, J O'Neil, G Leonard, K McLeod, M Curran, D Williams, B Roberts, P Shotter, P Price, M Lee.

1-8 Year Men: D Cameron, R Naera, G Fraser, R Wright, K Stewart, E O'Donnell, K Bint, J Webb, L Scott, B Harris.

1-8 Year Women: J Hardie, M Guttenbeil, E Chrol, S Rokstad, J Hollingsworth, C Budge, L O'Neil, C Neeley, H Smeath, L Jones, S Epsom, J Walker.

On Sunday the Open squads will compete against Auckland and North Harbour at Browns Bay. The squads announced by the selectors are:

Men Open: D McMurchy, G Bond, D Cameron, D Brewster, T Reader, S Nelson, B Mackie, P Wightman.

Women Open: D Strawbridge, M Attwood, L Mills, L Stewart, S Wightman, M Jones, K Horscroft, D Owens, P Brewster.

The Masonic Lodge held its charity tournament at the Kamo greens last week. There was a great turnout of 32 teams and prizes were awarded for individual greens.

Winners on the day were 'C' green – S Prasad, K Sidwell, P Reader, L Reader with 4 wins and 25 ends; second was G Neeley and team, third went to P Nicholson and team.

"A" green winners were B Starkie, M Lee, M Nicklin and L Scott (Onerahi) with 3.5 wins and 22 points. Second was M Dalbeth and team with third going to C Todd and team.

Mamaranui Club held their Xmas Hams and Lambs tournament last Saturday. A great day was had by all teams and they had full green of 16 entries.

Six prizes were presented in the event which was won by Graeme Lawrence, Ray McGee and local Karen Solley. Second was A Rakich, T Rakich and L Te Tuhi, third was R Sowerby, L Jones and D Mora.

G Helmgrave, T P and J Madden were fourth with T Manga, A Manga and M Legrue in fifth ahead of B Wyatt, V Biddles and K Biddles.

Great to see Alan Rakich back on the green. Big G was lucky enough to win a ham in the raffle and lamb as his first prize.

Club tournaments for next week are: Sat 9th Arapohue MX Drawn- single entry; 10th Onerahi AC Triples; 11th Mt Manaia Men's Triples; 12 Waipu Men's Triples; Kamo AC Triples; 13th Leigh Men's triples; 13th Hikurangi Marchant AC Triples; 14th Maungaturoto AC Fours.
