Bowls: Full greens for umpires fundraising tournament

The latest bowling news

The summer season is now well under way, with most clubs having had their official openings. The next few weekends sees the regional events being played in Auckland, North Harbour and Northland.

This Saturday, the Northland Umpires Association fundraising tournament is being played at the Kamo greens. A full line-up of teams will take part. Morning tea is at 9am followed by play at 9.30am. This tournament is bowling attire please.

Coming events

September 21 will see AC Triples at Ngunguru, September 23 is Women's Pairs at Onerahi, followed by Waipu triples on September 26-27 for men, and Ruawai AC triples and Ngunguru AC 2x4x2 pairs both on Saturday.

The weekend of September 26-27 also sees the men playing at North Harbour and the women playing Auckland in their annual premier singles events. The following players have entered this tournament from Northland, Clyde Edmiston (Kensington) Adam Booth, Gerry Mulligan, Paul Wightman (Mangawhai) Wayne Wrack and Kevin Robinson (Maungaturoto); Anne Bateman, Savanna Lauder, Leanne Stewart (Hikurangi) and Lauren Mills, Chris Budge and Ann Muir (Kensington).

In a change, on October 4, the Northland 1-8 and 1-5 Representative squads will be competing at Mangawhai and Waipu.
