Bowls: Eight to tackle Kamo final

There will be eight finalists at the Regional Tiger Turf National Winter League final on Sunday at the Kamo greens. Play starts at 9.30am.

They are:

1. Trevor Smith, Carol Smith, Nancy Page (Coopers Beach); 2. Paul and Jean Huxtable, Peter Dorreen (Composite); 3. Cedric Campbell, Teri Stott, Jo Hood (Composite); 4. Errol Edlin, Ed O'Donnell, Dave Smith (Kamo); 5. Sam Nelsom, Mike Butler, Steve Smith (Composite); 6. Peter Mitchell, Dennis Brewster, Willie Wyatt (Hikurangi); 7. John Dunn, Bruce Horscroft, Larry Valance (Composite); 8. Anne Bateman, Ken Fitness, Clive Claridge (Composite).

The winners will represent this region at the New Zealand finals in Auckland.

This event is played as pairs but with three players, each taking turns to go in and out of the game.

Each member must play at least nine bowls in each game.

At any stage the team may play a one-end 'power play' where any points scored will be doubled.

The game is fast with each match lasting a maximum of one hour.

Hikurangi Club also advise they are holding a 2x4x2 pairs, any combination, on Sunday.
