Bowls: Centre junior singles attracts 36 players

The Centre 1-5 year Junior Singles will be held this weekend, with section play on Saturday at the Onerahi greens (women) and Kamo greens (men).

Eighteen players will take part in each section.

Players are reminded that they are required to supply a marker.

Players entered are:

Centre executive fours were held last week and it is congratulations to the Dargaville team of Kevin West, Allan McKinnon, Margaret Smitton, and Murray Liddell who won the event with four wins and 27 ends.

Second were the Whangarei combination skipped by Gary Herbert, with four wins and 26 ends, and third were a Kensington combination skipped by John Jamieson, the only three winner on the day.

The centre advises that nominations for board members, centre president, centre selectors, coaches and managers close on May 1 with the centre office.

Nominations may be made by clubs or by individuals who are interested in giving back something to our sport.

A curriculum vitae should be forwarded.

Prizegiving

The centre awards night and prizegiving has been set down for June 20.

Nominations for awards can be made by clubs or by individuals in the area of Club of the Year, Player/ Young Player of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Green Keeper of the Year and Service to Bowls.
