There was success for the Auckland representatives (East Tamaki Club) when the 1-5 Year Interclub competition for the Mercedes Cup was completed last weekend at the Hikurangi Greens.

This team had only one loss in the singles and comprehensively won the event after only four rounds were completed. Mairangi Bay (North Harbour Centre) were second and Kensington/Ngunguru representing Northland were third with Opononi (Far North) finishing in fourth place.

This Saturday sees the continuation of Centre Champion of Champion events with the Club pairs champions competing at Mangawhai greens. On Sunday the Club Fours champions will compete in their Champion of Champion event once again at Mangawhai. The draw will be done on the morning of play and play is scheduled to start at 8.45am.

The summer season is fast coming to a close and the Maungaturoto winter program has already started.

The final open tournament on the programme is the Hikurangi any combination triples to be played on Sunday, May 22.
