Northland singer-songwriter Jamie McDell is going out on her first national tour to promote her latest album, with three gigs in Northland part of the schedule.
McDell, from Mangawhai, starts her 11-date national tour in Whanganui on April 10 as she promotes her new album Ask Me Anything.
She willthen play gigs at Kaitaia's Te Ahu Centre on April 17, Whangaroa Memorial Hall in Kaeo on April 18 and The Butter Factory, in Whangarei, on April 19. The tour ends in Te Awamutu on May 10.
McDell says this will be the first chance for many of her fans to see her close to home as the tour will head all over the country in April and May.
She is thrilled to be going out on the road for the first time, making stops in towns she's never performed in before and getting to meet the fans that continue to inspire her music.
"Everything I do is for my fans and it's because of them that I get to be doing what I love. I'm so excited to meet them and play for them; they've been a huge part of this album so it almost feels like I'm giving it back to them," McDell said.
The tour will see her play many of the songs from Ask Me Anything for the first time, as well as material from her gold-selling debut album Six Strings And A Sailboat, including fan favourites You'll Never Take That Away and Life In Sunshine, both of which are certified gold.
•Ask Me Anything will be released on March 27 through Universal Music.
