Golf results.-

The Pines Golf Club women's team are Northland champions after they took out the Northland region women's team competition on Saturday at the Northland Golf Club.

Thirteen club teams from across the Northland region battled it out to find the 2019 champion team.

1st: Jacqueline Scott, Robyn Te Whata, Marilyn Ralph and Judith Copland (Pines Golf Club)
2nd: Julie Gordon, Catherine Jenkins, Margaret Pennington and Suzanne Hansen (Waipu Golf Club)
3rd: Sandy Doherty, Anne Nunn, Jan Gill and Jolene Zink (Bay of Islands Golf Club)
To top off the day, Robyn Mulholland from Sherwood Park Golf Club scored a sensational hole in one on the 18th hole.

In other golf results, Mangawhai's championship men's Pennants team won the final of North Harbour's premier Nobilo division on Sunday.

Far North Indoor Bowling Association

Inaugural Mark Matich Open Triples held in Kaitaia - 12 teams took part (May 11).

1st: Don Simpson, Kia Ward, Peter Wright, Kath Love - 3 wins, 21 ends, 38 points
2nd: Ton Kaan, Inez Bunting, Eleanor Holt, Lyn Nisbet - 2 wins, 19.5 ends, 38 points

84-kilogram Class Open Women

1st: Sarsha McFarlane (Whangārei) - squat 113kg, bench press 57kg, deadlift 140kg, total 310kg.

100kg + Class Open Women

1st Velma Brown (Whangārei) - squat 148kg (Northland Record), bench press 90kg (Northland Record), deadlift 170kg (Northland Record), total 408kg (Northland Record).

Men (Bench Press only):

69kg Class Master Men aged 60-65

1st Brian Froggatt (Dargaville) - bench press 127kg (Northland/NZ record)
